Help for an afternoon, without handing over everything
Eventually you need a break — an afternoon, a weekend, every Tuesday. The person who covers it needs enough to do the job well, and no more. Binda has a role for exactly that.
What a respite worker sees
Today's medications and the ability to log them. Today's schedule and tasks. Their own visit notes, which they write and can read back. A plain 60-day summary of the key issues — the digest, not the diary. Nothing from the family feed, no documents, no other caregiver's notes.
What they write
A respite worker writes their visit note like anyone else — how she ate, whether she napped, what they did together — and it lands in the care team's timeline with their name on it. They just don't read the rest. That is the whole design: contribute to the record, without the history.
Between visits
Pause a respite worker when they are not needed and resume when they are back; while paused they see nothing, and their history stays. For a fixed engagement, set an end date and the pause happens on its own. For recurring cover, schedule their shifts like any caregiver's and hours are tracked the same way.
Free for them, one seat for you
Respite workers use Binda free. On the Starter and Essential plans they take the single caregiver seat; on Care and Family there is no seat limit. Any invitation can be made a respite invitation with one choice at the top of the form.
The permission that lets a respite worker write but not read is unique in Binda. It exists because "write the handoff note" and "don't read the family's private notes" were both true at once — and the product had to say yes to both.
A deliberate exception
